Sun Masters DFW installs residential and commercial window film in Westlake, TX, including heat-rejecting solar film, privacy and decorative film, security film and switchable smart film. We are a family-owned company founded in 1979, an authorized XPEL dealer and a 3M Authorized Window Film Dealer, based in Carrollton and serving Westlake and the rest of Tarrant and Denton Counties.
Westlake is a small town of large custom homes. Estate lots, long views across open land and a lot of glass mean the sun reaches far into the house, especially on the west and south sides. Owners here usually want three things from window film: keep the rooms comfortable, protect the finishes and art inside, and do it without the glass looking tinted from outside.
In a custom home, the expensive damage from sun is slow: faded hardwood, rugs, leather, drapery and artwork. Quality window film blocks more than 99% of UV, the main cause of fading. We use spectrally selective films from XPEL and 3M that reject a large share of solar heat while staying close to clear, so the view and natural light stay the way the architect intended.
Many Westlake homes have glass where privacy matters at night: primary suites, bathrooms and lower-level rooms that face a neighbor or a drive. Options range from daytime privacy film to frosted or patterned decorative film, and smart film that switches from clear to private at the touch of a button. Smart film is often the right answer for a bathroom or front entry where shades would look out of place.
Big panes and glass doors are attractive, but they are also an easy way in. Security film bonds to the glass and helps it hold together after an impact or attempted break-in, buying time and discouraging a quick entry. It is installed the same way as solar film and can be combined with it.
Real jobs filmed by our crew around Dallas-Fort Worth, including switchable smart film, one of the most requested upgrades for homes and offices like the ones in Westlake.
Not if we choose the right film. For most Westlake homes we recommend neutral, low-reflective films that are hard to notice from the street.
Window film blocks more than 99% of UV, the main cause of fading. It slows fading a great deal, though nothing stops it completely, so very sensitive pieces still benefit from being kept out of direct sun.
